Whitepaper: Touchscreens in medical technology

Possibilities of interactivity

Touch technology enables direct interaction between the operator and the GUI (Graphical User Interface). In the medical environment, devices must meet a variety of requirements: crystal-clear readability, resistance to aggressive cleaning agents, ergonomic operation and contemporary design.

This white paper presents a comparison of common touch technologies. In combination with a glass surface, PCAP technology meets all requirements and offers the freedom that distinguishes it in medical technology in terms of display quality, ease of use and reliability. Finally, we will discuss why the sense of touch can also play an important role in ergonomics, e.g. as haptic feedback.
