The Wireless M-Bus is the wireless version of the wired M-Bus operating with radio technology. It is standardized in the European standard EN 13757-4 and is suitable for battery-powered devices. The radio connections are uni- and bidirectional, e.g. meter readings are transmitted.
OMS stands for Open Metering System and is the only system definition in Europe that combines all consumption meters (electricity, gas, heat and water incl. submetering) into one system. This standard was developed by the industry to ensure interoperable, future-proof communication. The OMS Group is a community of interest of associations, currently FIGAWA and KNX, and companies that support the goals of the OMS Group. With the Open Metering System Specification, it has developed an open, manufacturer-independent standard for communication interfaces and basic requirements for devices.
