Whitepaper: Displays for medical devices

Monitors that are certified for medical use are employed in operating rooms, for medical imaging, and for diagnosis. TFT displays are key components in this regard. They must have special optical properties. The monitor electronics handle the electrical adaptation to the system. They also assist with image scaling, if necessary, backlight control, and DICOM linearization.

Displays are everywhere in the world of medicine. They range from simple blood pressure monitors for personal use to control consoles for various devices in doctors' offices or hospitals to displays for evaluating data collected by imaging procedures such as CT, MRI, and radiology. This white paper will focus on the latter.
