AG952

Evaluation board for current sensor SM124

The evaluation kit provides a complete test environment for evaluating the GMR magnetometer sensors SM124-10E or SM125-10E. At the heart of the kit is an integrated microcontroller that communicates with the sensor via an I²C interface and enables simple data acquisition. The sensor is reliably operated via a regulated 3.3-volt power supply. To demonstrate the current measurement function, a current-carrying wire is placed directly under the sensor, allowing it to be used as a non-contact current sensor. The kit also includes a small ceramic magnet, which can be used to evaluate the sensor as a proximity sensor. Another disk magnet is included to expand the possibilities for application examples. The supplied software offers a user-friendly interface for visualizing and analysing the sensor data and enables quick commissioning and convenient testing in the laboratory or development environment.

The AG952 Evaluation Board is used to test the NVE SM124 current sensor.

The evaluation kit contains:

  • an SM124-10E (1 mT) or SM125-10E (4 mT) GMR magnetometer sensor
  • a microcontroller connected to the sensor via I²C
  • a regulated 3.3-volt supply to power the sensor
  • a current-carrying cable under the sensor for evaluation as a current sensor
  • A small ceramic magnet for evaluation as a proximity sensor
  • USB cable for connecting the evaluation board to a computer
  • Software for the user interface - install on a USB stick with a single mouse click
  • A disk magnet

Under the brand name IsoLoop, NVE has developed several series of couplers and transceivers for high-speed data transmission on a magnetic basis.

NVE Corporation is a leader in the practical commercialization of spintronics, a nanotechnology that relies on electron spin rather than electron charge to acquire, store and transmit information.

The company manufactures high-performance spintronic products including sensors and couplers that are used to acquire and transmit data. Products offer smaller size, more precision, higher speed, and are more rugged than coventional devices. NVE parts are popular in industrial, scientific, and medical applications. Sensors acquire information, couplers transmit information, and memories store information. Thus our technology can provide the eyes, nerves, and brains of electronic systems. NVE's award-winning products are sold through a worldwide distribution network.

NVE was founded by Dr. James M. Daughton, a former Honeywell executive, in 1989. The company is located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis.
