AG951

Evaluation board for SM324 current sensor

The evaluation kit provides a versatile platform for testing the SM324-10E smart magnetometer sensor in different application areas. The sensor is connected to an integrated microcontroller via an I²C interface, enabling simple communication and control. To demonstrate current measurement technology, a current-carrying lead is positioned directly under the sensor so that the sensor can be used as a non-contact current sensor. In addition, the kit contains a small ceramic magnet which is used to evaluate the function as a proximity sensor. The supplied graphical user interface is Windows-compatible, powerful and user-friendly, allowing easy evaluation and visualization of the sensor data. The isolated USB interface ensures a high level of safety and minimal electrical noise, while also guaranteeing low-interference data transmission to the PC.

The AG951 Evaluation Board is used to test the NVE SM324 current sensor.

The evaluation kit contains:

  • an SM324-10E smart magnetometer sensor
  • a microcontroller connected to the sensor via I²C
  • a current-carrying line under the sensor for evaluation as a current sensor
  • A powerful, intuitive Windows-compatible graphical user interface.
  • Simple software installation.
  • Flexibility of power supply via USB or external power supply.
  • Isolated USB interface for safety and low noise.
  • USB cable to connect the board to a computer.
  • A small ceramic magnet for evaluation as a proximity sensor.

Under the brand name IsoLoop, NVE has developed several series of couplers and transceivers for high-speed data transmission on a magnetic basis.

NVE Corporation is a leader in the practical commercialization of spintronics, a nanotechnology that relies on electron spin rather than electron charge to acquire, store and transmit information.

The company manufactures high-performance spintronic products including sensors and couplers that are used to acquire and transmit data. Products offer smaller size, more precision, higher speed, and are more rugged than coventional devices. NVE parts are popular in industrial, scientific, and medical applications. Sensors acquire information, couplers transmit information, and memories store information. Thus our technology can provide the eyes, nerves, and brains of electronic systems. NVE's award-winning products are sold through a worldwide distribution network.

NVE was founded by Dr. James M. Daughton, a former Honeywell executive, in 1989. The company is located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis.
