DisplayPort Extender

DisplayPort is a relatively new standard for the transmission of digital video data. Chip manufacturers like Intel are implementing DisplayPort as a new standard in their chipsets, replacing DVI and LVDS. Industrial customers prefer DisplayPort over HDMI because the connector is mechanically stronger and also lockable. An important commercial advantage is that no license fees have to be paid for the use of DisplayPort.
